Just finished a fun week off, with a little mini road trip with my best bud, Becky Crutchfield. Took the high road to Taos, and landed at a great restaurant in Penasco, Sugar Nymphs, unfortunately they were closed. However, no worries, headed straight to Taos and another wonderful restaurant for lunch, Farmhouse Café, at Overland Sheepskin. Then on to Peggy Nes and husband Bob, to hang out the afternoon. Both Becky and Peggy are outstanding artists, and Bob a picker and songwriter. I hung out with Bob while Peggy gave Becky a tour of her art studio. Just a great time. We rolled on to my former residence, Red River, for the evening, and a great meal at Texas Reds. My nephew, Sat in, a few tunes with my buddy Mike Addington, resident artist at the Lost Love. Michael, another former resident of Red River was hangin out with his partner Becky Allen, so we had a great evening after dinner at the Lost Love saloon, also in The Lodge at Red River. Michael very busy with preparing for his Big Barn Dance Festival, in Sep. Were all hopeful that the Corona virus scare is long past, and well have a great weekend. The schedule is almost completed, but I cannot discuss specifics right now. I will say there will be some long time favorites, some returnees, and a few new faces as well. The BHT is scheduled, as usual on Sat afternoon. La Fonda has not given any indication that they are curtailing music at this time. My plan is to be there this week, as usual. With respect to other bookings in the near future, I do not know, but will certainly update you folks. Its unchartered waters for us all, and hope its over sooner than later.
BTW, my buddy Bob Goldstein, will be playing with us on Tue, for the trio night. If you feel comfortable coming, be glad to have you. I certainly respect your decisions. Its a very personal issue, and, hope we all stay healthy, and safe. Best to all, be thoughtful, but keep calm.
