We’ll be pickin’ with my nephew, Michael Hearne and SXSW, making a rare public appearance these days. As many of you know, Michael has moved to Austin, Texas, so SXSW, does not get together very often. Most of their engagements are private affairs except for the SF Plaza and Michael’s Big Barn Dance Music Festival. We’ve done this before on the plaza, and it’s a really special deal. Bonnie hopes to make it down as well, but we’ll see how it goes. No doubt we’ll do some tunes together and Michael will have hand-outs with info about the Big Barn Dance on Sep 10/12. Also, I’m hopeful my good friend and co-author of “Navajo Rug, along with Ian Tyson, Tom Russell will join me for that tune on Wed. Tom is a great songwriter, and he and his wife Nadine, have just moved to Santa Fe from southern New Mexico. I’m also looking forward to going back to mine and Bonnie’s former residence of Red River, this Friday for Larry Joe Taylor’s big music bash at Brandenburg Park, afternoons on Fri/Sat, and the Motherlode Saloon and Lost Love Saloon in the Lodge At Red River. We’ll be in the park at 4PM, apporx, for a 50 minute show. The chili cook-off is Sat afternoon. Lots of vendors, with food and drink and beautiful grassy park to sit or bring your own chairs, blankets, etc. Come early and catch my good friends Keith Sykes and Richard Leigh at noon at the top of the Red River Ski Area (The Tip),, (song swap) then head down to the park and catch Mike Addington and Two Dollar Horse before our set. They’re a great country dance band and my dear friends as well. Hope to see many of you soon, and please know how much I appreciate your support and love and concern for Bonnie. She’s slowly making progress on all her health issues. Have a great week and stay well. Thanks, Best To All, Bill BOOKINGS: 505-690-2514 OR

Tom is the co-author of Navajo Rug, along with my buddy Ian Tyson. Honored to playing a tune for a tribute to Rosalie Sorrells. Great sing/songwriter, who passed not too long ago. We also lost Lynn Anderson, “I Never Promised You A Rose Garden” fame, and the great pedal steel guitarist, Buddy Emmons. He was worhsiped by every person who ever played a pedal steel. If you don’t know who he is, go to YouTube and play “Night Life” by Ray Price, and you’ll hear him play one of the great pedal steel parts of all time.
