Folks, All good here in Santa Fe, hope where you are you can say the same. The elements, wind, got us yesterday at the ABQ Folk Festival, so disappointing. We ha d full tent and then the middle of our first song a thunderstorm became to shake the tent loose from the tie downs and it was unsafe to continue. Great folks down there and no one felt worse than the folks putting on the event. Hope we’ll got another shot next year. We did manage to find a small room and play acoustically for the few folks that found us inside the venue. Looking forward to, at last, getting my matching hearing aid which should arrive this week. Hopefully will head down to ABQ on Thursday and pick it up. Should help my music and hearing immensely. I’ll be glad to have it for the big benefit dinner/dance this Saturday evening here at Quail Run for our show with the Rifters. The benefit supports La Mariposa Montessori school a number of other good charitable groups. Bonnie is doing as well as she can be, lots of issues with health, but she’s truckin’ on and hopes to make a guest appearance on Saturday for a couple of songs for the benefit concert. She also plans to be at Michael Hearne’s Barn Dance Weekend Festival in September at the Kit Carson park in Taos, NM. Always glad to head to Taos for a quarterly visit to Taos Mesa Brewing Americana Sundays. Dave Toland will be with us, as usual, and it will be good to be back there after about two months. That’s about it for this week, please make it out to see us soon, if not for the benefit show this coming Saturday, sometime soon. Love to you, and hope your summer continues to go well. BTW, want to send out our heartfelt love and support for all the good folks who have endured loss and misery in, Texas, Oklahoma, and now Colorado with the major weather issues, especially central Texas. Hang in there, it will pass. Thanks, Bill billhearne.com bill@Billhearne.com BOOKINGS: 505-690-2514 OR bill@billhearne.com

Folks, Hope all is well with everyone this week. We’ve had much needed rain and all is looking beautiful in Santa Fe this week. I’m heading out early the morning to the Kerrville Folk festival outside of San Antonio Texas, for sadly, another memorial concert for a fallen comrade and most dear friend, Segle Fry. Segle was, along with Bonnie and I, an original performer on the 1972 Festival. In addition, he was a fierce of our music and became a mentor and father figure to us over 40 years. He was also a friend to many of us early Austin Texas pickers, such as Rusty Weir, Steven Fromholz, Jerry Jeff Walker, and many others, until his passing on Jan 5th due to massive heart failure. I’m, honored to be invited to his memorial celebration at the festival, and many thanks to Dalis Allen, producer, for making it possible for me to be there. I missed his party in Austin at his beloved venue, Saxon Pub in January. It’s true, when you’re young you attend weddings, when you’re old like me, 66 years, you attend funerals and memorials. Anyway, we’ll have a good time and I’ll a few of Segle’s favorite songs, such as, Creole Bell, Make Me a Pallet On Your Floor, Piney Wood Hills, and a classic country medley, plus see some dear friends, hopefully, if USAir cooperates, I’ll be back Tue for our regular La Fiesta date. As I mentioned, Mystic Lizard, my buddy Bob Goldstein’s, Bluegrass band will cover for me on Monday, don’t miss them, and yes, you can dance to their music for sure. My new replacement hearing aid is being made and will be ready in a couple of weeks. I’ll be able to hear you and converse with you folks much better now that I will have matched set that work in tandem. Sorry I won’t have it for the ABQ Folk festival, but will do the best I can. Looking forward to that event on June 6th at 4:30PM on the Mt Taylor Stage. Got to run and get ready for another night at the Sagebrush Inn. We had a fantastic Friday, last night, and looking forward to another in a few hours. Be careful this weekend and we’ll look to see you very soo, and as always, thanks for your support and friendship. Did some trailblazing in Ft Worth, weather was not kind to us there, but a great time anyway. Not a lot of time to chat this week, just know we’re back for most of the summer, right here in Santa Fe and Northern New Mexico. Take care, and know that you are all appreciated. Looking forward to seeing a lot of you folks the next couple of weeks or so. Always great to go back to my native state. We will be at La Fonda as usual this Mon/Tue, so come on by and send us on the way south. We will be returning to La Fiesta on Mon May 18/19. The best news this week, for those of you who continually ask and care about Bonnie, is that at last he eceived her hearing on Thursday. It has been a relief and bl,essing to say the least and has improved her hearing immensely, which in turn has improved her quality of life. She plans on rejoining the two vocal groups, which she participates, this coming week. It will also make her trip to Mexia, TX for her family reunion much more enjoyable. Still waiting on insurance for mine, but we’ll get by with what we got until then. See you soon, and thanks for your continued support and friendship. It’s sincerely appreciated. BTW, we just booked three shows in Red River, NM, this summer. Mon/Tue—La Fiesta Lounge at La Fonda Hotel, Santa Fe, 7:30/11PM, trio W/Dave and Bob Fri—Range Café, Bernalillo, NM, 7:30/9:30PM, W/Zeke, Bob Sun—Café Greco, 233 Canyon Rd, Santa Fe, 12/3PM, (weather permitting) SOLO, Great deli walk-up order menu, Howdy! Folks, Excited about our Texas tour beginning May 7th. We’ve added a couple of dates in May, so check out the website fo0r details. Our new website, same URL, www.billhearne.com, has more information than our old format. We supply address and phone numbers for each venue and a Google map as well with directions. Really hoping for a great turn-out on our tour, especially our new venue appearance in Ft Worth at Shipping & receiving Bar. Those of you on my list in the area, please spread the word. The show will be on Wed evening May 13th. If we have a respectable turn-out, we hope to make this a regular stop on our Texas swing. Bonnie is excited to be getting her new hearing aids this Thursday. Although turned down by Medicaid, the good folks at Bonnie’s place of worship, Christ Church Of Santa Fe, Presbyterian affiliated, stepped up and purchased the devices for her. Can’t be more thankful, they are truly good folks. If these, she will be able to fully participate again in her singing groups, The Christ Church Chorale and the Threshold Choir group. She’ll be going to Texas as well for her family reunion next month, near Waco, TX, so the aids coulod not come at a better time. I’m also waiting a one near hearing aid to match the one I received last year as replacement for the aid Bonnie’s now departed guide dog damaged. That was not the reason we had to part with the animal. At least I have two and we’re functional, but the new one will bring both ears up to being equal. My CD, Bill hearne and Friends/All That’s Real, Howlin’ Dog Records, is available on-line at iTunes, CD Baby and Amazon as download or hard copy. Of course they are also available, hard copy only, on my own website. We’ve been getting good solid airplay, but sales have been slow. I think CD’S are on the way out, sadly, but times change. I guess downloading, iPods, etc, are the way of the music world. Hope you’ll pick one up one way or the other. I’m very proud of the work we did on this project. Take care, and stay well. Thanks for your continued support at our shows, and look forward to seeing you on the at a venue soon and especially on our Texas swing in a couple of weeks.
